It is because of our interdisciplinary approach to health and wellness that patients in and around Nashville, Tennessee seek out the Center for Advanced Dentistry when they demand exceptionally high-level dental care.
What do we mean by biomimetic dentistry? Is it the same thing as holistic dentistry? Not exactly, although the two share some characteristics.
Biomimetic dentistry has four core principles:
Preserve Your Natural Teeth: Because natural tooth material is superior to any artificial material we’ve developed, we strive to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. When repairs are necessary, we try to remove a minimum of tooth material while achieving the goals of our repair.
Use Materials Similar to Tooth Structure: Although we can’t completely match natural tooth structure, there are some materials that are more like natural tooth structure than others. For example, ceramic fillings are more similar to tooth structure than metal amalgam.
Achieve a Natural Appearance: Just as no artificial material has surpassed natural teeth in strength, so natural teeth remain our ideal for beauty. If we want to achieve the highest cosmetic results possible, we strive to mimic the appearance of natural teeth.
Parts Must Function as a Whole: Your mouth is an integral part of your whole body, so we should always strive to make sure that any dental procedure fosters your overall health. This is where biomimetic dentistry overlaps with holistic dentistry. It also includes the neuromuscular dentistry notion that restorations have to work with and foster a healthy bite.
Dr. White has been practicing for more than two decades. He’s also an accomplished lecturer. In addition to his dental school education, Dr. White completed an optional residency at the Jackson Memorial School of Medicine. This medical training gave him a broader perspective on oral health and dental treatment that he regularly applies to improve the results he achieves for his patients. He received advanced dentistry training from the World Famous Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). LVI recognized Dr. White’s talent and insight early, and he was quickly promoted to the rank of senior instructor, at the time the youngest person to receive that honor.
Every person on the team at the Center for Advanced Dentistry cares deeply about Nashville and the surrounding communities. This is why Dr. White and his team often donate supplies and resources as well as volunteer their time to low-income dental clinics. Additionally, they are proud to support the important work undertaken by the Second Harvest Food Bank and Toys for Tots.
